March Status Update

Hi all!

• 3 of the Nine Lives Project kittens are still looking for homes! Brad, Brittany, and Big Man Chad are having a blast at Karley’s house, but could use a forever home.

• Louie, Plato, and Aristotle are still looking for forever homes.

• Pokey, our MVP Momma, and Penny both need a forever home.

Our Board has been a little shaken up: Alek and Dan relocated to Columbus, OH at the beginning of March, and Karley is in the home stretch of her student teaching. Because of this, we’ve paused most of our operations other than (1) supporting our current fosters and (2) trying to get our current fosters adopted.

We will absolutely be back! Once things settle a bit more, here’s what we plan to do, roughly in the order that we plan to do it:

• Pet Supplies Pantry - we will be gathering up pet supplies from the community, writing grants, and seeking partnerships with corporations to gather up supplies that can be stored in Rexburg and/or Idaho Falls, and given out to community members in times of need.

• Free Vaccines - we will be applying for Petco’s vaccine program, which supplies the basic booster, and looking for a local vet to help us with administering them. Note that this will not include the rabies vaccine or other more specific vaccines.

• Low-cost Spay/Neuter - we will be partnering with area organizations to support existing low-cost spay/neuter programs by applying for grants and helping with fundraising for vouchers.

Please note: NONE of these programs are currently active. We hope to launch them starting in the Summer of 2023.
