Our Mission:

Gemstone Pets Collective is dedicated to providing the resources and programs needed to preserve and strengthen the human-animal bond.

2023 Focus:

We enter 2023 as a new organization:

  • seeking our 501(c)(3) status and

  • identifying the greatest supply and petcare needs in our community, so we can research ways to address them.

After some reflection, we no longer feel that focusing on a foster program is the way to address what Eastern Idaho needs. This seems like treating symptoms instead of identifying and treating the root cause: economic hardship and limited access to supplies, care, and information. Therefore, we’re hoping to develop a Pet Pantry, contribute to the growth of already-existing local low-cost spay & neuter programs, and research ways to help with low-cost vaccines for pet owners.

A world where every animal has access to comprehensive care and enrichment, no person is denied the joy and comfort of sharing their lives with animals, and every community is empowered to collectively meet the needs of animals and people where they live.

Our Vision:

Inclusive

  • We work to combat discrimination and inequity, and to build programs and services that are accessible and welcoming to all.

Collaborative

  • We are committed to engaging our community and developing mutually-beneficial partnerships to support our mission.

Respectful

  • When approaching difficult moments and decisions, we honor the animal and the person by meeting them where they are, no matter the circumstance.

Accountable

  • We operate with full transparency so the community and our supporters can easily see how we are working towards a better future for humans and animals.

Forward-Thinking

  • We consistently demonstrate self-evaluation and an openness to new ideas to stay at the front of contemporary animal services.
