Louie, Plato, & Aristotle

Baby pictures from August 2022

In early August, Louie and her five kittens, about two weeks old, were brought to the Four Paws Pet Adoption Center; a kind community member had been trying to care for them, but their landlord wouldn’t allow it. We put out a frantic call for fosters and found one right away: a local family in need of some soothing after the loss of their beloved family cat. The little family was taken to Idaho Falls, where they spent several weeks growing. Momma was named Louie, and we knew she needed to have surgery on her injured eye, but that it had to wait until she stopped nursing and could be spayed.

When the kittens weaned and reached that crucial 2-pound mark, we took the whole batch in to get their surgeries taken care of. Shortly after this, we lost two of the orange kittens to an unknown illness. As sad as it is, that’s common in our work. We’ve seen statistics that 8% of kittens simply don’t survive, a condition known as “Fading Kitten Syndrome”.

The remaining cats were moved to a new foster located in Rexburg, where they are now! The lone girl kitten, a tabby, was adopted already, but Louie and two of her sons are available and ready to come home with you! Bios and photos were provided by their fosters. If you want to meet them and consider adoption, please contact us!

The great philosopher Aristotle once asked the question “What is a friend?”, look no further because the answer to that question is Aristotle the cat.

Aristotle the cat is a loyal friend who is looking for his furever home. He has energy for days, and will give you hours of endless entertainment. He loves to play! He loves his toys, and his scratching post. Aristotle also loves his snuggles and will curl up on your lap and his purr can be heard a mile away. He sleeps close to his foster momma every night. He has the biggest heart and loves other cats, dogs, and he LOVES kids. He gets along with and wants to be friends with everyone. He adapts very easily to new situations! He would do best in a home where he can have another animal companion to play with (his brother Plato is also in need of a fur-ever) or someone willing to engage with him on a daily basis.

The great philosopher Plato once said “Courage is knowing what not to fear”. Plato the cat took his name sake’s advice and is not afraid to start his new life with his fur-ever family.

Plato that cat is a sweet and chill cat who will fill your home with love. Just like most kittens Plato enjoys to play and explore. He enjoys playing with others, but doesn’t mind entertaining himself. He loves to get pets, snuggles, and loves from his foster family. If you need a video gaming look no further. One of his favorite activities is curling up on your lap as you play your favorite video game. He lends you his cat-like reflexes and has won his foster daddy many games. He gets along well with others cats (regardless of gender), dogs, and kids. He is a bit shy when it comes to new situations but warms up quickly. He would do best in almost any situation. With love and care he would make the perfect newest addition to a family.

Louie is the literal definition of a perfect cat.

Louie is one of the sweetest cats that her foster family has ever loved. She is the most polite, quiet, and well-mannered cat you have ever met. If you want a cat that is very relaxed, personable, and absolutely gorgeous than Louie is your girl. Louie enjoys just hanging out with her foster family and getting pets. When she wants to be pet, she will sit down next to you, gently reach out a paw, and politely tap your arm. She than will look at you with the sweetest face and wait for you snuggle her. She loves everyone, and is just so full of happiness and joy. She does not mind other cats or even dogs. She loves kids, and does well with them as long as they know how to respect an animal’s space. Louie takes a little bit of time to come out of her shell but she is well worth it.
